Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese treatment that rebalances your body to allow it to heal. Acupuncture is a great treatment for a variety of ailments, from stress to cancer to wrinkles. Even if you are afraid of needles, do not worry. Although it may feel weird to have the needles in you at first, there is no pain involved in acupuncture.

Acupuncture works by stimulating certain areas of your body that are connected to where you might feel problems. According to the philosophy, your body is divided into twelve energy channels called meridians that are linked to specific organs. You Qi, or life force, moves along these meridians. When this energy flow becomes blocked, illness occurs. Acupuncture stimulates the energy flow, bringing balance back to the body. Acupuncture eases stress, soothes pain, improves circulation, helps joints and muscles, and strengthens the immune system.

Whether you believe in acupuncture or not, after just one session, you will feel less stressed and more at ease. Scientific studies have shown that acupuncture stimulates brain chemicals, including endorphins, that boost your mood and decrease pain. Although many rely solely on acupuncture for cures, it also serves as support for other treatments.

Stress:
The body has a natural flight or fight response, similar to all animals. When we sense danger, we tense up, our heart races, our stress hormones go into overdrive, and we decide whether to run or stay. In modern society, many of our lifestyles trigger our stress responses, so we are living in constant states of stress. This causes many health problems, including heart problems, high blood pressure, and even obesity. Acupuncture releases many of the tensions caused by stress and allows your body to fully relax. Just sitting still in a room with the lights off and meditative music eases your stress, which is then amplified through stimulating your Qi and your endorphins.

Cancer:
Cancer is caused by toxins in our bodies that mutate our cells and cause them to multiply indefinitely. Alone or as a supplement cure, acupuncture can help the body fight these cancer-causing toxins. Acupuncture boosts the immune system so it can fight the cancerous cells, along with easing and symptoms and side effects. Additionally, if you are going through harsh treatments like radiation and chemotherapy, acupuncture will support your system, lessening a lot of the damage caused by these harsh treatments

Skin Health:
As you age, it is natural to get some fine lines and wrinkles. In our youth obsessed society, many women turn to botox or face-lifts to rid themselves of these age lines. However, plastic surgery takes away the natural elasticity of your face, so you lose the full range of facial expressions. Alternatively, through a specific acupuncture treatment, you can rejuvenate and tighten the skin naturally. You will look younger and more radiant while still having the full range of facial muscles and expressions.

Migraines:
There are many causes of headaches and migraines, and acupuncture can help with all of them. It will stimulate your natural healing process, ease tension, and balance your body. It will also just relax you, allowing you to rest and recover.

Back Pain:
Acupuncture helps with any back pain, or any pain at all. It balances the nerve endings and eases any pain, while helping to boost the healing process. Additionally, it stimulates endorphins, which are natural pain relievers.

Stomach/GI Disorders:
Many stomach and GI issues have an underlying issue, often stress or an imbalance of flora. Acupuncture will restore the balance in your body, ease your stress, and strengthen your stomach and GI tract so that it can heal itself.

Fertility/Sex Health:
Acupuncture can also help the sex organs. If you have difficulty conceiving, it can bring balance to your cycle and hormones. It will stimulate your reproductive system, making it easier to conceive.

Acupuncture is a great treatment that you can easily incorporate into a regular part your life. It will strengthen your immune system, help you sleep better, keep you relaxed, balance your body, ease your troubles and your mind, and just help you with any issues you may have. Additionally, many insurance companies have started to cover acupuncture. There is no reason to not try this ancient, wonderful, healing treatment for overall wellbeing.
